Question:
I want to convert a standard lawn mower engine to run on hydrogen (I.e. electrolysis and so forth)?

How much work do you guys think I'm looking at here? The ultimate plan is to attach it to an old bike. I'm doing this partially on a bet (with myself), and partially because I think I would be a great experience and allow me to build up a familiarity with said engines.

I know that at the base I'll need such components as:
A source of electricity (probably a car battery)
A standard lawnmower engine
various tools
and most importantly, some form of specifications on such an engine. This is quite basically what I've come to you guys for. I've searched for quite a while and all the modification specs I've found have been for full sized car engines, and I doubt I'll be able to figure out how to apply such specs to an engine so much smaller than what they would be dealing with.

Thanks guys!

You need to research BROWN'S GAS Generators.

All you need is about 30 inexpensive electronics components, including one 555 IC.

You are going to make a Square-Wave generator (elementary electronics- a 10-year old can do that).

You use Stainless Steel for the electrodes.

You produce only as much gas as you need.

You may want to check out AHANW Forums.

Here is just one of the postings they have that are directly related to your search:

All engines can be run on hydrogen, although some take more than others (which i will briefly explain), but most are easily adaptable to run on hydrogen.

We at the AHANW converted a honda lawnmower to run on h2 by taking off the carburetor, and injecting the hydrogen right behind the intake valve at about 5-10 lbs psi of h2.

Here is how it works, we take hydrogen from a tank at 3000 PSI and then regulate it down to nearly 10 or 5 psi, and run it through a one way check valve, flame arrestor, and behind the intake valve. Then we retarded the timing to nearly top dead center In general that is the concept to convert any engine. Although to convert a 2-stroke engine such as a boat or chainsaw, it might be better to get a mini rotary engine that runs off hydrogen from freedom motors, or use carbon pistons, which then you do not need to use oil anymore, which retains the clean aspect of hydrogen fuel.

i might advise cleansing the carb throughly, and a music-up! feels like the carb isn't offering the engine with adequate gasoline to function top, and is ravenous for gasoline. a sturdy music-up as quickly as a 300 and sixty 5 days isnt going to break the two!

leave it for lab pro thing is more u may convert it to cng or lpg and thats today is more practical as to get hydrogen we need to spent more energy than petrol etc

wrong from the start::

you are going to do as follows;;

since you fart a lot and there is methane in your farts,,,your gonna use it...!!

your gonna put a big tube up your rear end connect it to your mower and since methane is a flamable gas you wont have to tune your engine much....agreed??
