It depends on what you mean by Powerful.

In a similar engine, biodiesel and diesel are very similar in terms of power and torque output, I would say that some biodiesels tend to generate higher torque because of the richer C-H combination.

Nevertheless the catch is that at the same power, the engine tends to consume more biodiesel that diesel (almost 10% more, depending on the quality of BD)

Diesel.

Bio diesel is said to loose up to 10% of the total power when running higher concentrations.

Diesel is more powerful, but any gains in clean exhaust seem to have some costs, in this case power.

In a be conscious: Lubricity. Biodiesel is a extremely enhanced lubricant, while in comparison with previous severe sulfur diesel. concepts you, the sulfur became into there to be a lubricant. So extremely-low-sulfur has on the edge of no lubricity in besides. to swap the lubricity of sulfur, Europe provides 5% biodiesel to ninety 5% fossil diesel. it is sufficient to swap the lost lubricity from the shortcoming of sulfur. in case you flow 10% or greater biodiesel, you get a lot greater effective lubricity than you had till now. think of of it this way. What might you quite have lubricating your gasoline injection pump? Alcohol out of your drugs cupboard? Or Wesson oil out of your kitchen? At railway museums, we've historic diesels. we are VERY annoying approximately lubricity because of the fact it determines the life of structures we are in a position to now not get areas for. If somebody got here out with a gasoline that extremely superior the life of those areas, i may be throughout it... besides the incontrovertible fact that it is your call. in case you purely think of biodiesel is "weird and wonderful", and you're danger-averse and annoying of exchange, or you purely do not choose something to do with "the environmentalist time table" or perhaps if... or you loathe something this is "eco-friendly"... or you purely decide to "save on with" classic diesel (which extremely skill you have replaced to extremely-low-sulfur diesel!) -- then you definately might have an amazingly undemanding physique of concepts. purely is going to tutor human beings's sense of custom is significantly better than their sense of conserving their investments in costly kit.

i would say they're about equal. i would switch to biodiesel just for the environmental reasons though.

personally i think bio-diesel cause hay when you can make your own gas you can get much more power full then that pulse i ramp up the octane
